Beach Bubby!!

This post is basically just a photo dump from a FANTASTIC day in Whitianga with my mum!!  The sun was shining, the watermelon was flowing (Thanks mum!!) and the sea was warm!!  My Chunky-monkey was just mesmerised by the sand and the water!! (and possibly by my lilly-white legs!!)

Lachy got to have a play in the water with me and his Bubu!  He was a bit hesitant to start with, but he eventually looked like he was enjoying himself!!

Playing in the sand was just Awesome for bubba, and he even sampled some of its tastiness!! (Washing it out of his mouth proved a bit tricky, so lets just consider it an internal exfoliant?)

(Arent kids hats just the cutest!!  He also has one in blue stripes that has an elastic band for under the chin!!  They just serve to make my boy look like an even scrummier, tasty little treat!!)

Hubby and Quibbles (Not his real name, but still awesome!!)  sat under the sun 'brolly like little old men while us women folk taught the chubby-cheddar about the deep blue sea!! (Even though it's looking pretty green right now!)

After drying bubba off, i went for a swim while Lachy pee'd on his daddy :)

After another 'rinse' in the sea it was time to head home to mums for a snooze and some more watermelon before the big drive home!!

Just a Perfect day all round really!!  Looking forward to another weekend of journeys to meet up with family, which means everyone else can look forward to a whole lot more photos!!  Whoop whoop!!

"Live for a Life without Regret"

Lazy Sunday!

What a fantastic relaxing weekend!!  Hanging out with good friends and family, BBQ going, pool in use, it was just the perfect sunny weekend!  Sunday was especially great.  Just me, hubby and bubba hanging out, pottering in around the garden, swimming giving Lachy his first experience of a swimming pool, and just relaxing all day!  (As relaxing as a 6 month old can allow anyway!) (oh, and i politely made hubby mow the lawns...A mans gotta earn his swim you know!)

I had so much fun putting Lachy into his togs for the first time, and he was delighted enough to wee in them and show me just how nonabsorbent they really were!! (So fun was had all round!)

Toggy time!!  The nonabsorbent speedos...yes, i had my son in speedos... Sorry bout that!

 Then i coated him in sunscreen and put the next layer on!  On our tog hunt we found a little pack that had rash shirt and shorts and a hat!! Wins all round!!

He looks so stoked to be wearing his new togs huh!

We took it slow getting in the pool and didn't stay in there for long.  Lachy was absolutely fascinated with the water to start with, drool was going Everywhere!!  (In case i haven't mentioned it before, for Lachy the excitement of an event is proportional to the amount of drool oozing from his mouth!) After letting him test the water with his feet, we just lowered him in a wee bit at a time until he started to look a bit worried.  We got as far as sitting him in his floaty seat before he decided that the game sucked, but then he was happy to just hang with me with his bum getting wet for a little bit!!

After our swim we dug into a bit of lunch, and Lachy got the benefits of a good friends advice!  When Glen was doing the cooking for our impromptu family BBQ i asked him to cook a wee piece for Lachy, the following picks are from our mini cave-man trying to consume his new fav' food!! (Good source of iron!!)

Did i mention that the last 4 pics were taken on my new phone???  I have entered that club...you know....the 'People with phones that take decent pictures' club!  Sigh, il ignore the fact that Hubby has to set everything up for me and just act like i know everything about android stuff!!

I also totally forgot to post about Breaking Dawn!!! How could i??  So here it is..... I LOVED IT!!  I know there's mixed reviews about it and i'v seen some unflattering comments about the acting and so on, but who cares!!  It was exactly what i was hoping for, and was even better because they made it more lighthearted in spots!! (Loved the honeymoon bits, it made Edward look like such a sweety!) And now we all have to wait a whole year till the next one :(

So anywho, i think it's nearly bed time, no wait, i'v got another wee post to do, but after that it's def' bedtime!!!  I hope everyone's weekends were as fantastic as mine!!

Roll on Summer!!

Im one of those freaks that love the hot season!!  I think there's nothing better than sitting in a sunny patch (with sunscreen) feeling the sun soaking into your skin!! I love it when the temperature soars to ridiculous heights and all you can do is find a cold drink and a shady spot! (Please note that my opinion of summer definitely changed for the duration of my pregnancy!)  Today i'm feeling a bit chilled, so i thought id brighten my own day with some of the things i LOVE about summer!!

•  Heat!! (I hate the cold!! I think i actually have a phobia of being cold!)
• Watermelon!!!  I love the stuff!! I would happily consume an entire watermelon by myself (possibly 2 if i wanted to suffer the consequences of too much fruit!)
• The smell of lawns being cut in the sun!!  Who doesn't love that smell, it's fantastic!.....Unless you accidently run over a dog poop.  Then...not so great!
• Lazing on an inflatable chair in the pool!!  Hubby bought me one so i could float my belly round in the water without sinking!  It has a cup holder, which made me feel extra flash!!
• BBQ's!!!  Who doesnt love BBQ's (Yes this must be typed in capitals!!)  Having family and friends over, kids running around on your freshly cut, nicely smelling lawn, with the smell of burning sausages and steaks (I could never be a vegetarian!)!!!  What a perfect afternoon/evening!!  
• Ice cream on a cone!!!!!! Lets be honest, this one is a year round obsession!  I love nothing more than a couple of scoops of ice cream (1 scoop cookie and creme, 1 scoop goody gumdrops) any time of year, but its especially good in summer when you have to eat it in a hurry to stop it making the cone go soggy, and then you get brain-freeze for your troubles!!
• Days at the beach!!  Enough said!!
• Afternoons spent water skiing!! I missed out last summer (skiing and belly's don't mix well) so i'm looking forward to heading out this year!!

And for the next few summers i get to introduce all these things to my wee man!!!  It's such an exciting thought! He's going to experience his first swim, his first ice cream, watermelon, BBQ's, sand....sand stuck in his nappy, and being warm running around nuddy!!!  It's so exciting knowing that we get to experience these firsts with him, seeing his first reactions, seeing the things he'll grow to love and the things he wont!!!  Feeling pretty blessed right now folks!!!  Any way, hope everyone has a FANTASTIC weekend and watches the Rugby World Cup Final!! Come on ALL BLACKS!!! (And i don't even like rugby!!).
