Pinterest is holding me hostage!!!

I have discovered PINTEREST! Or should i say Pinterest has sucked me in?!  There's just something in me that wants to gaze at 100's and 100's of things that i want/want to make that has me sitting for, well, hours!!  I just cant stop myself!  Every time i say 'righto, time to shut down the computer' i spot something else that has me following a whole other stream of stuff and creating another board!!  It's ridiculous!!

However, i also now have several AWESOME ideas that i'm going to try for my home, like beer crate shelves, and some little owl cushions for Lachy's room (the above aren't actually cushions, but i want cushions)!  Also there are a lot of  few outfits that i can oogle over until i can convince my hubby that i need them!! (I appear to have a jeans fetish!) But isn't the dress over the jeans just GORGEOUS! (I think so!)

(By the way, i hope i'm referencing these right! If i'm not, it's not intentional and i'm not trying to steal the ideas, feel free to instruct me on the correct way! :)  )

I have 8 boards already, and i'v only been a member for a week (Please note, not all the boards are full....give me another week!lol!) and they cover a range of things from inspirations to clothes to mini garden ideas!  How did i ever live without this in my life??!!  (Just so ya know, i lived just fine without it, but oh how enriched i feel with it now!!)

I'm actually multi-tasking at the mo', with Pinterest open in another tab so i don't get withdrawals from it!! (Sad i know!)  Wait, can you link Pinterest to your blog?.....I'm sure you can.....I gotta go!!

'Night Terrors' :(

I remember being told when Lachy was born that babies don't dream.  Over the past week i have been tempted to video my child sleeping and send it to that person!

The first time my wee man laughed out loud, he was sleeping soundly, then just let out the cutest sounding laugh that gave him a fright and woke him up!  It was fantastic to hear!!  He smiles lots in his sleep too, is this s'posed to be a reflex action??  If this is the case please tell what reflex is causing my child to Scream in Terror in his sleep??!!  There is nothing more gut wrenching than hearing your child suddenly scream as though something is tearing him to pieces.  It's not preceded by fussing or crying, it's just a sudden scream.  Sometimes it is just sudden crying, as if he's worked up to a certain point in his sleep and then it suddenly comes out vocally.  I'm sorry if this sounds overly dramatic but after a week or 2 of constant 'night terrors' i'm feeling pretty 'theatrical' about it! It doesn't seem matter if it's day or night, if he's in his bassinet or in my arms (although when he's in my arms i can see his sleepy little face contort before he screams :(  It's not nice).

For the most part he's very easy to settle, but sometimes he just continues to quietly cry for a while afterwards (you know the cry, the heartbreaking little sobbing one), and it just leaves me wondering what on earth has he experienced in his lil life so far that could terrify him that much!?  Is this something he's gunna grow out of?  And is there anyway to stop them?...although i think i already know the answer to that one.

Has anyone else had this??  I'd love to know if this is just a phase, or if it's something i need to do something about!  Bad dreams suck BIG!!

Anywho, that's my two cents worth!  Here's to a better week of sleeps for my boy!!

Toodles (Kinda feels like an inappropriate end to a horrible post, lets just move past that awkwardness, k?!)

Playing Dress Ups!!

This Saturday was the wedding day of two of the most amazing people i know!! These two people could be under the definition of the words 'friend' and 'loving' and 'welcoming', and as a result ,the build up and excitement in advance of this wedding, has been like the build up to the royal wedding in our circles!  Thoughts of what to wear have been frantically roaming the minds of women all around Hamilton , and for me it's been super exciting!!

My everyday wear is what i like to call casual-grunge (read: trackies and old shirts) and my only make-up expired years a little while ago, so when an occasion such as this comes along i go totally a teensy bit nuts!
After several failed shopping trips (actually it was probably more than 10 trips)  I finally found the perfect top!  Not only was it comfy, it was also really pretty (with diamante thingys!) AND its got a kind scoop neck that allows easy access for breastfeeding!! What more could i want!! It matched beautifully with my black pants and white sandals with diamantes on them! I also found...ok that's a lie, my husband found, a really pretty pair of earrings that i just loved!!

I managed to find a gorgeous wee dress shirt for Lachy too! He's so handsome in it!!

After a practice with some make-up that my wonderful sister-in-law gave me, i was able to create a look that didn't have me looking like a clown, or a boxer on a losing streak, so i was pretty stoked! My hair was pretty simple, i chopped myself a fringe and then did the messy bun look!  I also dunked my earrings in a cuppa tea to try to make them match my top a bit better!!

The day was amazing and it was lovely seeing these two beautiful people committing themselves to each other! It was also fantastic seeing everyone dressed up and feeling a wee bit flash myself!!  Before we left i told hubby to remind me to take pics of my outfit so i could prove that i flashed up for the day, but of course we forgot! Darn mummy brain!  We got a couple of snaps of Lachy 'helping' me put makeup on (he just wanted me to jump him in front of the mirror! Such a cutie!) and a couple of family snaps at the wedding, but no nice shots of my pretty top and earrings!  So today (Sunday) i put them back on so Hubby could take pics for me!!  So the following mini-photo-bomb is from the day!!

Me being a Jolly Jumper for Lachy!

'Helping' me with my makeup!

So Scrummy!!

Hubby makes me look sooo short!!

So that was my day of dress ups!! So much fun and such a fabulous occasion!!  I hope everyone else had a fantastic weekend and a chance to play dress ups!!

The Paper Mama photo challenge - Favorite photo from September!

I had this picture picked out for The Paper Mama photo challenge last week!  I think it's one of my best pics ever and my boy was such a trooper holding still for me!!

Lachy's first touch of sushine!

This is my favorite picture because it was Lachy's first real play out in the sunshine, bare foot and fancy free!!  If i'd seen the aphid before i took the pic i probably wouldn't have jammed the daisy between his toes!! (Bugs aren't my friends!)  Fortunately i didn't!!

4 Months Old!!

I cant believe how fast time is going!! (I think i start every post with this statement!)  My wee man is 4 and a half months now and getting so much bigger and so much more....interesting? Is that the right word??  What i want to say is, he's so much more into his surroundings, and grabbing things and babbling and screeching etc!!

The biggest thing for him over the last couple of weeks is starting on baby food.  For the last month he's been watching us eat with so much intensity, grizzling after his feeds and trying to 'eat' everything in his reach so we thought, lets give it a go!  We tried a teaspoon of apple for the first few days, which he ate rather enthusiastically, then decided he didn't like, so we tried kumara and sweetcorn...Wow that boy must've been hungry!! He can't get enough of it!! (Although we do only give him 2-3 tspns a day at the moment)  Sigh, another step away from being my wee baby :(

Because the weather has been so flippen amazing (I'l ignore the fact that its been raining all day today) I'v managed to get Lachy outside to experience the Great Outdoors in bare feet!!  He took it all in with his usual style and grace (He just oogles everything with his mouth wide open and copious amounts of drool pouring out). It's been great!!  We bought a little Bumbo seat for him and after me jumping him around for a bit he sat in it and watched the wind blowing the washing on the line!!

Then i had a brain wave!!(I don't get those very often anymore)! We lack door frames to hold our Jolly Jumper up so i haven't been able to use it, (i just hold Lachy up when he wants to jump- Excellent  arm workout!) I figured maybe it would hang on the clothes line....And it does!!!  Lachy had a blast plodding back and forward in his jumper and just feeling the grass beneath his feet!! It was a fun time all round!!

I'v been having an interesting time with the cloth nappy venture, i couldn't seem to stop the suckers from leaking (even after only an hour of wearing)....(As in Lachy wearing them, not me..i promise).  Hubby finally just rang the company, and after explaining the situation they have sent us a courier bag to return the nappy outers (which i must remember to do tomorrow), and they will be replacing them all for us with their new improved nappy outers! We've since bought 2 of these new ones to try and they haven't leaked at all!  So i'm looking forward to my replacements arriving!!!

Anywho! Now that i'v overloaded ya's with pictures it's time for bed me-thinks!!  Hopefully we all have a good nights sleep!!
