Christmas Tree Joy and My Chubba Boy!!

This post is sooo belated!!  In fact, all my posts are belated lately, i'l probably post about Christmas day in March!!  So about a week ago the Christmas tree finally went up! (Thanks Bianca!!).  I cant wait till next year when we can decorate the tree as a family!!  This year though, Lachy was quite content to watch his mummy put the sparkly stuff on the tree and make an angel for the top!

And the reason Lachy was so content to just watch.....cause my chubba boy LOVES strawberries!!!  And i mean LOOOOVES them!!

I'm so pleased he loves fruit now (He used to hate it!)  And he especially loves fruit he can hold and feed himself!! It's great, and it keeps him amused for a good 10mins!!   He also loves steak, and avocado on toast!! (Who doesn't love avocado on toast!)  He's a bit of a champ really!!

Anywho, time to go and freeze some baby food!!  I will try my hardest to catch up on posts over the weekend!!

Steppin' Out! Birthday Edition!! (Belated Post)

This weekend we celebrated my birthday....Feelin' Old!!!  Also feeling the love with flowers and choccy's and pressies!! (Thanks guys!!)  Had an Awesome afternoon with friends, stuffing ourselves from the BBQ and howling out songs on Sing star!!

Saturday evening we had Hubbys work Christmas party, which was kinda like someone else paying for us to go out and have a birthday dinner....with HEAPS of other people!!  It was Fantastic!! Good food too!!(although they insisted on putting pepper on Everything!! WHY???) ( And i have NO IDEA how those 2 pieces of caramel-toffee-cheesecakey-thingy got on my plate....Or where they went!!)

So this is what i wore out to the work do!!

Did i mention that the dress was a birthday present from my sister and brother-in-law?!  'Thanks guys!!'   So that's what i wore when we stepped out over the weekend!! This will likely be the last one of these for a wee while, no dress up occasions coming up (Except Christmas i s'pose!) so i'l be in jeans and t shirt for 99% of the rest of 2011....Dear God it's nearly another year!! Where did the year go people!!??

Anywho, i'm off to tu-tu with my new Graphics Tablet (Thanks Hubby!!!!!), expect another post tonight cause i am waaaayyyyy behind!!!

Post Shred Apocolypse!!

Ok, so the titles a wee bit irrelevant, but i like the sound of it so it stays!!

This post is a wee bit late, but better late than never!!  I have FINISHED THE SHRED!!!  Yup, Done, Complete, All gone!!!  And i'm feeling amazing!!! I don't feel like my body shape changed much in the last half, but i feel stronger, and my endurance is hugely improved! (Towards the end i was only sweating buckets instead of pools!!)

So here are my stats from day 1 of the shred, to day 30!

Id like very much to express how i feel about being given back my health/strength/enthusiasm and motivation but i just don't know that there are words that fit the job description!!  

Lal, you have changed my life!!  Sure you've helped me lose weight but that was just the bottom of the list. Even better than that, you've taught me whats more important, a healthy body, healthy mind, and healthy soul!!  You've taught me the importance of positive changes for myself as a whole, you've taught me to explore new things ('Broadbeaned' my horizons as it were....hehe, bean pun!!).  You've given me confidence in myself, and in what my body can handle, and you've shown me that even when i reach my limits, i can still push it a little further!!

You and Sally have both motivated me, kept me enthusiastic, and kept me trying hard (i can be a wee bit competitive too!)  Exercising alongside ya's has kept me strong, and i'm so thankful for your friendships!!(....is this starting to sound a bit like an Grammy's speech?? "so as i accept my award.....")

Lal, Your just one truly gifted woman of God!!  I still have no words to express how i actually feel, but i want to say that God has blessed you with some amazing talents and you use them Awesomely!!  It has been a privilege being your 'Jilli-Lal' guinea-pig and i am sooo looking forward to your boot camp (*Cough, be nice, *cough)

Right, id like to add down the bottom here that i haven't yet reached my goal, and will still be trailing after my 'Jilli-Lal' soaking up more little bits of wisdom on my fitness journey, and gearing up for runs, and (shameless and totally worth it advertising) i'l be following the workouts and recipe's and articles on your website as often as i can!!

So.....Bring on 'Ripped in 30'!!!

Santa Run!!!

So to start with, 2km my arse!!  It was 3.5km all up!!lol (and yes that makes a difference!lol)  I know i can jog 2km, anything after that is just guessing!!

From the start it was interesting!  When something is one size fits all, you gotta know someones gunna luck out!!  That someone was Hubby!!  It was like someone ordered the baby Santa suit for him!!  After a few minor adjustments to the suit (abandoning the pants and removing the arms from the jacket) he was sorted!!  My suit fit, but the second i started to take wide strides the felt started to disintegrate!!  It was hilarious!!

The run itself was good, until we followed the wrong people and carried the pushchair up 2 flights of steps......UP THE WRONG PATH!!!  Oh well though! We'll consider it an extra challenge in the run!

So we managed to run at least half, nearly took out a few people with the push chair (as you do!) and finished in 31mins (or something very close to that, cant remember what my Hubby said....probably wasn't listening!!) which i'm pretty stoked with, considering the time we spent going the wrong way!!  It was hard work, and the Santa jacket only stayed on for about 5mins but we had fun, and it was for an Awesome cause!! (Child Poverty)!!

 So stoked we did this!!  Now to start gearing up for the next run!!  Training shall start on Monday.....Tuesday if the weathers bad....definitely by Thursday.....Friday at the Very Latest!! :)

Meeting the 'Big' red man!!

I'v never been a big Christmas person.  In fact, most years i'm more of a grinch!!  I dont try to steal Christmas of course, but i try to stay as far away from festivities as possible!  Well this year is DIFFERENT!!  This year i have a little boy that looks at bright glittery things with AWE!!  I have a little boy that, in a couple of years, is going to know about the magic fat red man that delivers copious amounts of gifts, and his magical flying reindeer and sleigh!  He's going to hear about other kids leaving out cookies and carrots to feed said troop too!!

So last week i tucked my grinchness aside, and hubby and i took Lachy to meet Santa!!  (Im using the words 'hubby and i took' very loosely, cause really i dragged them both to the mall!)

The had a lovely Christmas scene set up, Pohutukawa (NZ's answer to a Christmas tree) and Takahe (An endangered NZ bird, although i thought they were Pukeko!) and Santa and his chair were front and centre!!

I totally thought Lachy was gunna cry, but he held it together as i settled him onto the 'Big' mans lap! (I'l point out here that Santa was in desperate need of some Big Macs!!)....(I also didn't mention to Santa that my son had soaked through his nappy, i just strategically placed a wee blanky between them!)

And so i stood there like a loon trying to #1 make my child look at the camera, and #2 make him smile!  Neither really worked but we did get one vaguely amused look out of him!!

 Did i mention that i'm now fully in the swing of Christmas and we have a decorated tree with a stocking for bubby! (I'l post about that later!!).  Ive decided that i'm going to get Lachy a picture with Santa every year for as long as he believes, just because :)

I'l be back again tonight! (So behind with posts!!)
