Why yes, I Always Bake....

I truly do!!
If you recall in my last post, i boldly stated that i would attempt to cook something different....

Anzac Cookies....

NAILED IT

Bread from Scratch...

NAILED IT
....(ok, so it was more crunch on the outside soft, but it's the inside that counts!!)

Also attempted were Oatmeal cookies (with choc chips), Chicken nuggets and Pizza from scratch..Nailed it, Nailed it....and Nailed it a little bit...as in, we changed the name to thin base pizzas...totally edible!!

So yeah, I'm feeling pretty successful right now #insert smug look here#

Also, One book consumed!!  Seriously, Gone Girl....it may just be the craziest book I've read in a while....actually it may just be the only book I've read in a while.  The ending is not one i saw coming, but then i didn't really see any of the twists coming!  Awesome Read!!

Bring on the movie!!

And then there's these two...

This photo was taken about 3 minutes before we discovered Lachys developed an allergy to fluffy dogs!!

Pics of this dude are getting harder and harder to get!!  Or at least ones that he's not blurred, or yelling "No pictures Mummy!!"

This lil guy, not so much...this is one of the few photos i was able to snap before he came racing up to put his face right in the lens...blurred snotty nose anyone?

My two Hams!!!  I had to hunt these pics down and add them in!!  How Awesome are these chaps??!!

Oh right, about that housework that needed doing....So, uh, after searching for further evidence supporting the theory that housework is bad for ones health, and coming up empty handed, i have decided that further research is necessary...and uhhh...blah blah blah, business business numbers (Is this working??)

Time to Breath..

After an amazingly busy month of markets and jewellery, I'm taking some time to just breath.  I'm going to cook something different...race trains and monster trucks with my boys...watch a movie with my Hubster..(Dear God, did i really agree to watch Star Wars??)...I'm gunna write some blog posts...peruse pinterest....read a book...Maybe I'll even squeeze in craft or two!
 The possibilities are endless!!

There will also be housework thrown in there somewhere i guess, although i hear that housework is bad for you...something about dust and rubbish and blah blah blah and i should probably just give that a miss..

We took a day off last month to escape to the beach for the day to blast away the winter germs, and it was SO GOOD!!  The warm sand, the sounds of the ocean, the icy cold water, the sounds of my boys exploring something different and exciting!!

Why yes, they are in their PJ's!  After 2 and a bit months of coughs, colds, tummy bugs and ear and throat infections we had pretty much given up trying to look presentable!

Checking out the shells and drift wood under the bridge!!  The boys are so curious about everything now, and they soak it all up like handsome little sponges!! I can see the 'Why?' stage approaching pretty quick...

We stopped at a Coin Save on the way to the beach and bought the boys a bucket and spade each.  These were promptly filled with sand and shells and then tipped over heads...still not sure if they were a good purchase or not!

I wasn't sure how the boys would go around the water, but they were happy just looking, and then they were off chasing seagulls.

Discovering empty crab shells!  I hate crabs...with a vengeance (yes, even the teensy ones)...and trying not to pass this fear on to the kids is quite hard when i really don't want to touch the darn things!!  Kinda like bugs....If one of my boys has an insect on them they'd better hope their dads home to remove it!!

And then the water became appealing!! It was freezing, but still good (once your feet go numb the temperature doesn't matter)!!  We let them splash and make mud pies for a wee bit, then walked back to the car for a wardrobe change! Some hot chips and a play in the playground made for a Great end to the day!

LOVE hanging with my Family!!   (Mostly because they don't mind my yoga pants and PJ shirt)  Speaking of yoga pants and PJ shirts, i'm gunna be gracing ya'll with my impression of a fashion/style (i use those words in the loosest possible way) post!!  Stay tuned, that will likely be a post worth seeing!...Cause a bit of a laugh is always good.  As is being made to feel good about your own fashion sense! It's a public service really....you're welcome :)

And now if you'll excuse me, i have to go and figure out a way to erase the pen scribbles that are now gracing the pages of the 'Toddler Taming' book that i borrowed from the library...

Monday Funday...on a Tuesday

I may be alone here, but Mondays aren't really a huge drag for me.  I don't have to go anywhere to work, the boys don't have anywhere they need to be.  Tuesdays...well they're more like Monday for me!  Lachy has Kindy, so right away i have to get dressed (which would be easier with my pinterest wardrobe, i'm sure), then there's the whole 'Grocery Day' thing, which requires writing lists and checking cupboards, which results in me needing to clean so i can actually see what we have.  It also means baking day...yep...i bake...

Ohk, so it's not really a busy day, but it's a fantastic excuse to create a wee ray of sunshine in the form of Pinterest and all the funny bits i find on there!!  So here ya go...you're welcome :)

Seriously, i could spend all day scrolling through funnies!....and inspiring quotes....and recipes....clothes....Sigh!  Time to go and get some ironing done...honestly, why do clothes still need to be ironed!??

Mid Blog Crises...

Expect changes...again....  I'm in the middle of yet another Mid-blog-crises!  I love writing, and for each stage in life it makes for an Awesome off-load point when the kids are fighting, work sucks or life's a bit blah!  It's also an Amazing stage for when the kids are too cute for words, and life steps up a notch!  My blogs changed quite a bit (as i have) but it's still not quite....well, me.  And lately, i've really felt the urge to blog about things other than my family, but haven't wanted to stray from the 'mom blog' image that i think i'm s'posed to have (self imposed)

So give me a day or two to really mull things through, and then i'll get back to ya's.  With me... and  hopefully a blog about all the things that make me happy, and all the things that keep me busy, and all the things i dream about, cause at the end of the day, that's what this is all about! :)

For whoever's still reading, see ya's soon!! :)

'Not all who wander are lost'

Thursday, 13 February 2014

Bahahaha, and i said simplify!!

Since my last post, the year to date has been anything but simple.  As i listen to my preschooler jumping in his brothers cot, with my toddler screaming his encouragement nearby i can't help but wonder just how heartily God was laughing as i typed away on my blog in January.
Life with two very enthusiastic(?) boys is a whole different game to the one i was expecting.  It didn't help that i always soothed myself in the knowledge that i was a dream baby, so at least one of my offspring had to follow suit!....Not so, my friends, not so.  Did i mention that their father was a little hell-raiser that liked to light fires?  No?  His mother still has a slight look of terror in her eyes when she speaks of 'those days'.

My day's are full of squeals of delight quickly followed by screams of horror (usually mine), bumps, scrapes, bruises and tears (again, usually mine).  And so for my sanity, thinly veiled by an excuse about the boys needing day care for their development, i have applied to go back to work (I do realise that this will require the wearing of real clothes).  I have also applied to study this year (Distance learning, so pj's are acceptable! Yuss!).  And then there's the jewellery thing.
I know i'm going to cry when i drop them off for their first day, but as my little delights unfold all the washing i finally and carefully folded, i know i'm making the right decision!

My jewellery has taken a wooden turn and in spite of my finger tips going numb and my nails looking rubbish (they were never that flash to begin with) from hours of sanding, I am LOVING the way it's looking!!  Hopefully i can still find the time to get to markets and keep up with the website and facebook page!  (Ps:  Feel free to have a nosy!)

And just to share my paranoid craziness with all of ya, a few weeks ago the cats of our neighbourhood started disappearing (Ok, only 4, but still).  Sadly, our Maow-maow was one of them.  When talking to our neighbours (Maow-maow used to have play dates with their cat William, like real ones) they mentioned a little lady with a giant hand bag.  One of our neighbours watched this little lady as she stopped to pet William, and then as she tried to lure him down the road!! (When he ran out to yell at her she raced off).  WHO DOES THIS??  Honestly, if she'd attempted to get William into her ginormous bag he would've gone bat-shit-crazy (He's a big cat), but Maow-maow?  He probably would've jumped in head first looking for a treat!  So of course now, with my mind running wild, i'm envisioning an underground mob of little old ladies that are slowly amassing a collection of cats for their 'crazy-cat-lady' mafia.  (and yes, this is far better than any of the other alternative possibilities i've thought of).

So, that's my random 'Simplified' life to date!
