Bahahaha, and i said simplify!!

Since my last post, the year to date has been anything but simple.  As i listen to my preschooler jumping in his brothers cot, with my toddler screaming his encouragement nearby i can't help but wonder just how heartily God was laughing as i typed away on my blog in January.
Life with two very enthusiastic(?) boys is a whole different game to the one i was expecting.  It didn't help that i always soothed myself in the knowledge that i was a dream baby, so at least one of my offspring had to follow suit!....Not so, my friends, not so.  Did i mention that their father was a little hell-raiser that liked to light fires?  No?  His mother still has a slight look of terror in her eyes when she speaks of 'those days'.

My day's are full of squeals of delight quickly followed by screams of horror (usually mine), bumps, scrapes, bruises and tears (again, usually mine).  And so for my sanity, thinly veiled by an excuse about the boys needing day care for their development, i have applied to go back to work (I do realise that this will require the wearing of real clothes).  I have also applied to study this year (Distance learning, so pj's are acceptable! Yuss!).  And then there's the jewellery thing.
I know i'm going to cry when i drop them off for their first day, but as my little delights unfold all the washing i finally and carefully folded, i know i'm making the right decision!

My jewellery has taken a wooden turn and in spite of my finger tips going numb and my nails looking rubbish (they were never that flash to begin with) from hours of sanding, I am LOVING the way it's looking!!  Hopefully i can still find the time to get to markets and keep up with the website and facebook page!  (Ps:  Feel free to have a nosy!)

And just to share my paranoid craziness with all of ya, a few weeks ago the cats of our neighbourhood started disappearing (Ok, only 4, but still).  Sadly, our Maow-maow was one of them.  When talking to our neighbours (Maow-maow used to have play dates with their cat William, like real ones) they mentioned a little lady with a giant hand bag.  One of our neighbours watched this little lady as she stopped to pet William, and then as she tried to lure him down the road!! (When he ran out to yell at her she raced off).  WHO DOES THIS??  Honestly, if she'd attempted to get William into her ginormous bag he would've gone bat-shit-crazy (He's a big cat), but Maow-maow?  He probably would've jumped in head first looking for a treat!  So of course now, with my mind running wild, i'm envisioning an underground mob of little old ladies that are slowly amassing a collection of cats for their 'crazy-cat-lady' mafia.  (and yes, this is far better than any of the other alternative possibilities i've thought of).

So, that's my random 'Simplified' life to date!

Simplify

After what turned into a busy year, i thought it was time to take a breather.  Turns out that 2014 is looking to be even busier!  But, in the spirit of actually sticking with something this year, 2014 is getting named.

SIMPLIFY

Everything.  The things i do, the things i use. The things i am trying to be.  Really, just Everything.
Last year, when things got busy, i lost sight of the important stuff rather quickly.  This year I'd rather lose sight of the things that complicate my life....This really isn't as deep as it sounds, but let's carry on!
After a few weeks of thoughts and dreams and all sorts of other illogical things going through my mind, i have managed to come up with my simple solution to my 'hectic' life.  Less facebook.  Less Candy crush.  Less Pinterest (don't expect that one to last).  Less gadgets.  Less Crap food.  Less Business.  Less pressure to do.
More family time.  More outside time.  More actual thinking.  More reading (real books).  More time in the kitchen.  More time in the garden.  More photo's.  More goal setting and dreaming.  More creating stuff (not children, in case you were asking, my wee lads are awesomeness enough!).  More being in the moment instead of being too busy.
And yes, I'd like to blog more!  Which was the original point to this post and i got side tracked with my simplify tangent...any who!  This blog is going back to basics (I sound like a budget pack of noodles).  I will be posting in my usual random way about whatever i feel like (I sound like I'm 5...i promise I'm not!)  But i will be de-cluttering and just blogging because i love to write really!  There may end up being a garden post, or a recipe post, or a pinterest post ('cause lets face it, i can't give up pinterest!).  There will def' be family posts and pics!! (Just for you mum!)  and who knows what else really!  I'll also be changing back to a .blogspot (maybe time for a name change??) because i would rather be tight with our budget than pay for a spot on the web!
So if you're still here, 'Hey!' Thanks for hanging in there! (Please know that i still read every ones blogs each week, even though I've been such a slacker with commenting!!)

I think we're back on track!! :)

Hmmm, can't think of a clever title...

So...i've been absent again...I should really just make that my stamp to start each post with!  Technically i haven't been completely absent, I've been lurking about finding time to stalk all my fav' blogs...and a few 30 others!

And since i'm s'posed to be finishing up an order, i'm turning this into a 'to-the-point-in-bullet-point' type post!!

Let's begin!

# My kids ROCK!!  Lachy's just impressing the pants off me with his parroting!!  He's copying what we say, and his fav' movie, and he joins in all the actions on his wiggles dvd too (possibly he just watches Way too much telly) Olly's just a wee speedster, trying desperately to keep up with his brother.  I pulled the old trolley out of the garage last week, to see if he'd stand with it and he just took off across the lounge!!  Clever wee poppets!!

#  Hubbies been catering to my every Pinterest whim and our house and yard (a Whole other post there!) looks like a home!!

Saw this on pinterest...Man i love pallets!! (It's hiding an ugly bit of MDF that's aiding the wall bracket) Still got to work on hiding the wires!

Saw this on Pinterest too (i spend WAY too much time on there!)  I realise they're around the wrong way, but it makes more sense to me this way!

#  Hands are healing slowly....very slowly.  The pain that i have now though is different, and temporary, so i'm happy!

#  First run this morning in my training for a half next year!! (Damn near died, but i made it in the end!)

#  Our cats still a weirdo.  That's all.

#  Going to check out a play group tomorrow!!  Ridiculously excited to be getting out of the house with the boys!!

#  In desperate need of some wardrobe updating....Extremely (some may say 'obsessively') attached to my comfy old jeans and hoodies though!! (Paint and resin covered though they may be!)  Might be in need of a thrift store challenge...but i'll let ya know!

#  Added 2 courgettes from my garden to dinner tonight!!  So exciting to have our own produce!!

#  Trying to simplify everything at the mo', so any extra bitties that i don't have time for on my blog will be disappearing!!

So that's us for now!!  One day, many years from now, i will write a real post...Maybe!  Or maybe i should just rename my blog A Life in I-Post-Randomly-Land....

I got my hands did!!

Wahoo!  Thanks to a short gap on a surgical wait list i finally got myself onto an operating table!!  Excitement much!!!

Goodbye Carpal Tunnel issues!!!

After such a long wait, each wrist only took 3 minutes to cut (the surgeons daily record!), i was in the room for maybe 30 mins, and i was home by 5pm (Local anaesthetic only!)!!

Aiming for an evil 'contemplating taking over the world' pose.....Fail (but i had to keep my hands elevated for 48 hours, so there ya go)

About half an hour after this pic was taken i was back to ED after my body decided to disagree with one of my pain medications.  We probably could've been home again fairly soon, but then i decided to disagree with another of the medications i was given! (Not serious disagreements, mind...  Just enough for the gloves on the wall to start marching places)

And so this is 4 days later, during an impromptu dressing change (aka i was nosy)

Right hand

Left hand

Just a teensy bit of swelling (I have naturally fat hands) and bruising....And maybe it currently hurts like feck....maybe.

So now i'm oh so hopeful that these wee cuts will mean the start of some pain free years!!

(The next post will not contain images of flesh cuts, i promise!!)
